Establishment of the Pakistan Digital Assets Authority (PDAA)
The government has approved the creation of the PDAA, a dedicated body to oversee blockchain-based financial infrastructure, ensuring:
- FATF-compliant innovation
- Economic inclusion
- Responsible adoption of digital assets
“Pakistan must regulate not just to catch up, but to lead. With the PDAA, we are creating a future-ready framework that protects consumers, invites global investment, and puts Pakistan at the forefront of financial innovation,” said Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Chairman of PCC.

- Exchanges
- Custodians
- Wallets
- Tokenized platforms
- Stablecoins
- DeFi applications
This aligns Pakistan with progressive economies like the UAE, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, fostering innovation while adhering to global financial standards.

- Regulate the $25 billion+ informal crypto market
- Enable tokenization of national assets and government debt
- Provide legal clarity for global and local investors
- Facilitate monetization of surplus electricity through regulated Bitcoin mining
- Empower youth and startups to develop blockchain-based solutions
