Islamabad – March 24, 2025 — Pakistan’s initial Hajj flight is slated to take off on May 1, 2025, launching the nation’s annual pilgrimage operation to Saudi Arabia, as confirmed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This significant event signals the beginning of a month-long effort, concluding on May 30, with the complete flight itinerary to be released by April 10.
In 2025, a total of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will participate in this revered tradition. Close to 89,000 individuals will travel through the government-organized Hajj program. Five airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Saudi Airlines, will manage the transportation of pilgrims from various regions of Pakistan to the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is diligently preparing to ensure a seamless pilgrimage. Efforts are focused on refining logistics, securing accommodations, and providing healthcare support to accommodate the substantial number of participants. Authorities have pledged to implement strategies that address potential challenges, offering assistance to pilgrims throughout the process.
Following Saudi Arabia’s decision to expand its Hajj quota after the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s pilgrimage is poised to be among the largest in recent years. Updates on the full flight schedule, travel guidelines, vaccination protocols, and training sessions will be available by April 10.
