ISLAMABAD – The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council anticipates that Pakistan will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, March 31, 2025. Secretary General Khalid Ijaz Mufti informed that the sighting of the Shawwal moon is expected on the evening of Sunday, March 30, 2025, weather permitting.
Moon Sighting Details Mufti detailed that the new moon is set to be born on March 29 at 3:58 PM Pakistan time. By the following sunset, the moon will have aged over 26 hours, which should facilitate its sighting. For a successful sighting, the moon must be at least 18 hours old at sunset and there should be at least a 40-minute gap between the sunset and moonset. These conditions are likely to be met across various regions in Pakistan.
