The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the formation of a new four-member committee tasked with overseeing the establishment and operational success of the International Center for Tax Excellence (ICTE). The committee is set up under Section 230J of the Income Tax Ordinance of 2001, a move aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s capabilities in international tax compliance and excellence.
The Monitoring Committee is to be headed by Muhammad Iqbal, a senior BS-21 officer from the Inland Revenue Service, currently serving as the Member Admin/HR. He will be joined by Ahmad Shuja Khan, Member (Audit/CRM), Ardsher Saleem Tariq, Member (Reforms & Modernization), and Fida Muhammad, Chief of International Taxes at the Directorate General of International Tax Operations.

This strategic initiative by the FBR is designed to strengthen the country’s tax system by ensuring the effective functioning and implementation of the ICTE, thereby promoting higher standards of tax administration and compliance internationally.
