May 16 has been designated as a ‘Day of Gratitude’ to express thanks for the victory on the defense front. Nationwide special prayers will be held to thank Allah Almighty and seek continued prosperity and strength for the country. This observance aims to foster unity and reinforce Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty.
Relief and Compensation Package
The prime minister announced a comprehensive relief and compensation package for those affected by recent hostilities and for martyrs’ families, including:
- Civilian Martyrs and Injured: Rs 10 million for civilian martyrs and Rs 1 to 2 million for the injured.
- Pakistan Army Martyrs: Rs 10 million to Rs 18 million, depending on rank.
- Home Facility Allowances: Rs 19 million to Rs 42 million, based on military rank.
- Injured Armed Forces Personnel: Rs 2 million to Rs 5 million, depending on injury severity.
Support for Martyrs’ Families
The government will provide ongoing support, including:
- Full salary and allowances for martyrs until their retirement date.
- Free education up to graduation for martyrs’ children.
- A marriage grant of Rs 1 million for the wedding of one daughter per martyr.
Reconstruction and Medical Support
The state will:
- Reconstruct homes and mosques damaged during Indian strikes.
- Cover all medical expenses for the injured.
National Recognition
Individuals who played critical roles in upholding Pakistan’s sovereignty will be honored at the national level.
